Power restored to Lindenwald area
Staff Reports
HAMILTON — The Williams Avenue Feeder was re-energized by City of Hamilton electric personnel, restoring power to 2,000 customers near the Williams Avenue, University Boulevard and Zimmerman Avenue locations in Lindenwald.
"The Williams Avenue feeder took a lightning strike," said Steven Fields of the City of Hamilton's electric department. "Protective devices open and lockout to prevent damage to the electric system. This circuit only feeds the Lindenwald area."
The outage in the Lindenwald area was roughly two hours.
Nearly 4,600 Hamilton City customers were without power due to the storm that swept through the area late Wednesday, early Thursday morning, said Fields.
According to Fields, the Princeton Pike and Bobmeyer Road breakers are still de-energized, leaving 2,600 customers without power. Electric personnel are still working on restoring power to those parts of the City.
